Things I Want. And Want to Do.

I think I found the perfect way to teach mean, median, and mode (if I end up teaching 4th or 5th grade)

And I want to do this sometime. Just for fun. And because then I could get a new box of crayons.

And I think I want one of these:

Finally, I think I know what theme I want in my future classroom. Only not so much in one place.

Angry Birds, Anyone?

Number a: I'm absolutely LOVING the table cloth.
Number b: real life angry birds? I think I just found what my next birthday party is going to be. :)

Oh, what do you do in the summer time?

Summer=awesome! I'm loving it. I'm still not used to being in the temps above 75* on a daily basis, but I am loving being in Logan for the summer. The part I'm not loving is the being grown up part. I hate that rent and loan payments had to take priority over going to Lagoon with friends, and ultimately the trip to New York I wanted to take in a few weeks. :( Guess now I'll just go visit Mill Hollow that week instead. Which isn't bad; in fact, I miss it like crazy on a daily basis! But let's be honest, it's not New York. Hopefully things like that won't hinder my trip to Ireland planned for next summer.

Anyway, this has been a pretty epic summer. Jessie and I went to Lagoon with Lydia and went on the Tilt-a-Whirl 4 times in a row, partly because the third time was kinda lame (we couldn't get our car to whirl) and more because the ride attendant was super good looking. Plus, every time he'd get to our car to check the restraint thingy, he'd smile, wink and tell us to have fun. We also noticed that he didn't do that at every car. Yeah, he was flirting with us. :) Then, Jessie and I went back the next Saturday for bounce back. That was awesome. We went on Tilt-a-Whirl 4 times again, but super good looking guy wasn't there. :( We had mostly forgotten about him until he all of a sudden there he was, checking the restraint thingy for Dracula's Castle! We both realized it was him, looked at each other, and then back at him. We're pretty sure he recognized us (let's be honest, we were a little creepy going on his ride 4 times in a row the week before) because he did the whole, smile, wink, and have fun thing again. In his super attractive accent. Jessie and I were about ready to die from holding in our laughter, and when we finally got through the first door away from the ride attendants, we just let it out. And then laughed about it for the whole ride. And pretty much the rest of the night. :) Yep, epic!

The weekend of the 4th was pretty awesome. Jessie and I went up to the fireworks at the stadium with Matt and Ryan. Actually, we met some of Matt's friends up there. The fireworks were awesome! It was like front row seats without having to pay to be in the stadium. I hung out with Matt and Ryan again that Saturday, and then on Monday Nick and Christina joined us for an awesome steak dinner. And we did our own fireworks.

Last weekend my cousins, Andy and Leza, had their baby blessed. Luke and Lacey both held him. Think maybe I'll get a niece or nephew now?

Last, but not least, work is as good as ever! I just love those cute kids!

Day 30

Final day! Movies you can watch again and again

Leap Year. I'm so excited to go to Ireland next year!

Any Disney classic. Love them.

Despicable Me. "It was your cousin's idea!" "Whaaaaa?"

Ummm...yeah, that's all I can think of right now. I'm sure there are others though. That's why people buy movies anyway, right?

Day 29

Favorite tv shows and why you like them

Right now it would have to be Good Luck, Charlie on the Disney channel. I don't actually know why I like it. But it's funny.

My other favorite would be Big Bang Theory. I never thought I'd get into it, but once we watched it up at Mill Hollow last year, I got hooked.

Oh, and The Amazing Race. I just like to see all the places they go.

Day 28

Cruise a thesaurus and pick out 10 words you like the sound of

1. Cuddle (yes, this was truly the first word I saw. And I do enjoy some good cuddle action...(:  )
2. Recess (hooray for 3 day paid weekends!)
3. Zenith (I don't actually know why I like this one)
4. Ferrule (the little metal thing on the end of your pencil with the eraser)
5. Jaunty (It's kind of just a happy word)
6. Enigmatic (kind of mysterious sounding if you ask me)
7. Stultify (bored yet?)
8. Colloquial (now here's a good word for speed scrabble!)
9. Attractiveness (no charge for it. Or awesomeness.)
10. Marvel (that I made it to the end. Turns out a thesaurus is pretty boring.)

Day 27

Sorry, this one is a little late. That's what happens when you have a late night with friends, and then you wake up feeling like gross on a stick. Stupid allergies. So, here goes.

Your day job verses your passion

I absolutely LOVE my day job! I mean, really, who wouldn't love spending every day with these cute kiddos?

My passion, however, is just a little bit different. It's teaching. And I miss teaching so, so much! My favorite part of the day at work is when Karcher and Jovie are both sleeping, and then I get to work with Everett on learning how to hold a pencil and write his letters. And the sounds of the letters. And counting. Simple things like that. I don't really want to teach preschool or kindergarten, but I love my one-on-one teaching time I get with Everett. And the best part about it? He's remembering what he's learning, and it makes me so proud!
